Hey Oak Tree. "Why all this old PA gear? Why don't I just get one of those new, shiny and cheaper models from one of the new, big-box whorehouses" (no slight meant on that oldest of professions) I sold this gear for years and watched the evolution from quality US and Japanese built gear to cheap Chinese trash, built to last only a handful of years. Any of us experienced audio guys can also appreciate the more precision, sturdy "feel" of the older, better built gear. That's all I'll say about that. |

WORLDS BEST RACK SCREWS WE MEAN IT!!! Yeah I know it's just a rack screw, but if like me you've put in many hundreds or thousands of rack screws you know that a good percentage of them will cross-thread as soon as you start them. These will reduce the number of cross threaded starts you will have by many fold. They can even be successfully used to "fix" already cross-threaded holes. The main reason these are different is that their shaft is tapered smaller than the threads so it starts more accurately resulting in much fewer cross-threads. Due to the tapering it is also easier to start one of these screws when you have the screw gun or driver in one hand with the screw already stuck to the end, and the piece of gear in the other doing a "balancing act" while trying to get the threads started. You can also have less fear starting these with a power driver. No more "gingerly" starting all you screws with a manual driver then switching to your power driver. These also feature an oversized head with matching nylon washer, great for worn, enlarged, or oversized holes in gear. I bet you never thought anyone could talk this long about something a simple as a rack screw, but these things really are the best I've ever encountered. Each is finished in a durable semi-gloss black coating and comes with size matched nylon bushing. They are designed for standard US threaded racks and will even fit SKB type clips. Sold in a bakers dozen (13). $14.99 / 1 bag or $12.99 / bag 2 or more for quantities of more than 10 bags call for pricing. Enough for *6 pieces of gear in a stationary situation or 3 pieces in a mobile road or flight case. (Larger quantities available upon request) * While it is permissible to use only 2 screws to mount most rack-mount items, the screws must be through the lower most holes, not the top ones or used diagonally. If you use the lower ones, gravity will take care of the top. If there is any chance the rack will be tipped, rolled, inverted, knocked over or moved dynamically in any other way, then all screw holes should be utilized.

warrantyCARVIN "SNK-16" 16 X 4 X 100' UN-POWERED SNAKE SOLD 5/14/08 for sale Used maybe a half dozen times! Like new condition. 20 channels, 16 XLR sends x 4 XLR & 1/4" TRS returns. Fan breaks to 16 XLR inputs, 2 XLR Returns and 2 TRS, 1/4" plugs. All sends and returns are 2 pair, 24g, 100% foil shielded with gnd. As it's 100% foil shielded, it is VERY efficient at rejecting RFI (means you won't be picking up any country stations through your PA, due to the snake.) All the XLR jacks are double riveted to the steel box, and feature locks. We also grouped them by 4's in short fans to reduce tangles. The entire cable is in LIKE NEW condition. No dings to the all metal box, or breaks / bends to the jacks or plugs. The outside cable jacket is cut free. One great thing about this series of cable is that the fan outs are labeled by channel number along their entire length. This model is, like most previous models, built better than the current Carvin one. It uses all metal, Switchcraft brand jacks and plugs on the fan. This snake is ready to use!
