MID 1930's - EARLY 1940's ERA   
This was the “Age of Design”. Companies seemed to take considerable pride in, and strive for competitive edge designs. Corners were not cut, and premium materials were used. Radios from the late 30's and early 40's exemplify this trend.

This era was famous for the "Catalins" and the "Blue Mirrors"

Unfortunately very few of the original versions of the Catalin, Blue Mirror, and other cool designed radios of the late 30's and early 40's survived to the present. If you are lucky enough to find an example, the cost can easily be many hundreds, to quite a few thousand dollar$. (we sold and original Catalin for $6,200.00 recently, and some original "blue mirror" Spartons are bringing as much as $30,000.00).
