We have completely tested it for dial tone, incoming & outgoing calls, keypad response, function of both mic and speaker of handset, cord retraction / integrity, and ringer function.  NEW LISTING 8/23/11 (Click on above thumbnails to enlarge photos) VINTAGE / ORIGINAL / ANTIQUE WESTERN ELECTRIC ROTARY DIAL DESK PHONE "BLACK" MODEL 302 BAKELITE 'THE LUCY' TELEPHONE Circa 1946 (range ~1937-52) MADE IN USA for sale WWII era desk phone. Original and great looking, Bakelite handset and Tenite body (thermoplastic), ROTARY DIAL 'desk' telephone in black. Western Electric 302 model. Often referred to as the 'Lucy' model as it was the phone typically seen on the set thru the B&W period of 'The Lucy Show'. While we have done nothing other than a surface cleaning, the phone works great in all aspects. At some point in the past and prior to our acquisition, the cord has been changed over for modern phone jacks (that means you can just 'plug it into' your jack). Has normal, typical surface 'pitting' to the finish on the handset. The body has typical, minor scuffs / scratches with no cracks or chips. Black 5', brown, cloth handset cord in fine condition. While the original metal feet are all intact, most of the original brown cloth has worn away. Black plungers and metal dial. Dial works and returns fine. Phone rings loudly. Receiver speaker loud and mic clear. Handset elements dated 10/46 & 11/46. Great phone for use, prop, photo shoot, display or further restoration. Cosmetic Cond. 8 $249.
