This engine has been in storage for many years. Other than doing a quick firing test and a "pseudo" compression test, we have not done any other maintenance / work to it. What we know: engine ran on both cylinders when we sprayed a fuel mixture through the carb throat. Gear mechanism feels good when prop is hand rotated as much as we can. We did a "pseudo" compression check, but the only way we could have the cover off and turn the crank was with a wrench. We were able to test both cylinders to 62 lbs each. Using a wrench doesn't produce much compression, but at least we could tell there were no holes or cracks in the pistons. The motor is complete with tiller mechanism and transom clamps / mounts.  The entire engine including the lower unit has no significant damage that I can see.  There is no significant corrosion on the unit anywhere. The spark plugs were removed and look like new. Throttle mechanism is complete, the carb and throttle plate are intact and functional (although a carb overhaul would be advised on any engine that has sat for a period). The prop is an aluminum 2-blade and is nick free. This motor would be a great "race" motor like the previous Merc Hurricane's we've sold or it's a great motor to just use if your looking for a 20 Horser (they're bleedin' expensive new). 2 stroke / cycle of course.
