SHURE FOAM WINDSCREEN / SHIELD / POP FILTER
NOS A2WS-BK
CIRCA 1980
(individually, hermetically sealed so foam is fresh)

Made in Korea
NOT CHINESE!!!

Fits Shure SM56, SM57, SM77, 545 & 546 Microphones

We just received a batch of hermetically sealed for the military (from 1981), original, Shure, model A2WS, OEM, 'Black' foam wind screens. These are hermetically sealed in airtight foam / Mylar envelopes from military / air line surplus. The foam is as fresh as the day it was made. Locking collar intact. Comes in original OEM packaging.
The original Shure A2WS Locking Foam Wind-screen is designed with acoustically transparent materials to reduce unwanted breath and wind noise without, detrimentally affecting the sound quality. It prevents annoying 'P' pops and excessive sibilance from a speaker or performer talks or sings closely into the microphone. Also, of course shields the microphone from rushing sounds in adverse wind conditions, as well as adds a bit of 'safety' to the somewhat fragile cage of the SM57 in case of a dropped mic. I use one on the SM57 mic'ing my acoustic guitar to reduce the noise from occasionally bumping it with my guitar body. Locks securely to the microphone with a set screw.
Replace the old, rotton foam wind screen on your SM57 and other mics. Personally, I have always used and preferred my original, Unidyne III SM57 microphones for vocals, but ONLY if fitted with an 'Original' Shure, foam wind screen. The 'knock-offs' and simply foam 'socks' do NOT sound the same.
