New internal lamps installed on switches. Unit looks great! All functions tested for perfect operation. All inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves! Checked with O-Scope. No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent!

Yamaha has always been known for building pre-amps that can hold their own with units 3-5 times the cost. Will work with most any power amplifier, tube or solid state. After bench work the unit looks, performs and sounds great! Comes with a pdf / 'e' copy of the Yamaha C-6 owners / users manual. ü  Following ext / int visual inspection entire unit was cleaned inside and out including all contacts, switches and controls.

ü  Bias and DC offset checked and / or adjusted to correct spec.

ü  Meters calibrated per service manual.

Great looking brushed aluminum face plate with the original aluminum knobs. Following 12+ hours of restoration procedures, the unit was ran continuously at medium volume, as all our amplifier / receivers are, into a 4 Ohm load with "Loudness" on and both Tone Controls at 10 for 48 hours.
     
While this unit was originally marketed at xxWatts / channel, on our test bench the internal amplifiers of this particular unit, #...1659, produced 21 Volts per channel at 8 Ohms forxx Watts per channel and 17.1 Volts at 4 Ohms for xWatts per channel via discrete outputs (2x xx
Idle current draw .xx.

This Yamaha M-60 power amp has had complete service including cleaning everything inside and out, including both input attenuators. We also disassembled and re-soldered both banks of speaker output binding posts and input jacks. Upon reassembly we also verified the face plate, attenuator alignment. All illumination lamps / bulbs verified for operation. All 16 Output transistors individually tested. Both inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves into static 8 & 4 ohm loads! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! All functions test fine.  Cosmetically, it's in great, near new shape, with only some old 'id' info engraved on the rear panel. Following restoration procedures, the unit was ran continuously at medium volume, as all our amplifier / receivers are, into a load for 48 hours.
   
On our test bench the internal amplifiers of this particular Yamaha M-60 power amp, (#...6534) produced peak power of 4xx volts per channel for xx6 watts per channel at 8 ohms and xx volts at 4 ohms for xxx!!! watts per channel via discrete outputs @ 1khz.  
  (8x xx106 & 4x xx discrete output transistors. 
 (Overall Idle current draw at 1.5A. Floor noise @ <3.0mVAC. DC offset at outputs measured at <1.8mV on either channel.)

Great, late 1980's model power amp by Yamaha. The Model M-60. BIG power output! Monstrous 'headroom'!
Excellent for BIG 2-channel (stereo) audio listening or for use in an A/V system to power additional Front or Rear channel speakers. Enough power to also work as a project recording studio / band practice power amp as they are more stable at lower impedances than most (if used professionally, would be advisable to use a cooling fan). Lots of punch and headroom. I was a Yamaha dealer when this model was current and made lots of very happy Yamaha power amp owners with this model and it's flanking siblings.

Again, we have completely gone through this Yamaha M-60, stereo power amp, giving it a 'clean bill of health'. It is in fabulous cosmetic condition. This unit came from a retired Air Force Colonel, who purchased it in Okinawa, Japan, and supposedly never used any of it. That's how it looks too! Comes with original Yamaha T-1000 box and packing. Essentially a 'NOS' unit. Works and sounds great! Phat 'punch' and INCREDIBLE headroom for larger, more power-hungry speakers and program material!

This Yamaha MX-600 power amp has had complete service including cleaning everything inside and out, including both input attenuators. We also disassembled and re-soldered both banks of speaker output binding posts and input jacks. Upon reassembly we also verified the face plate, attenuator alignment. All illumination lamps / bulbs verified for operation. All 8 Output transistors individually tested. Transistors mounted with silicone sheets so no need to worry about heat sink compound hardening in the future. This amp has had the RCA inputs 'upgraded' in the past by a 'custom hi-fi' shop, however they had 'inverted' the L&R. We corrected that on the upgraded 24k gold RCA input connectors. Both inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves into static 8 & 4 ohm loads! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! All functions test fine.  Following restoration procedures, the unit was.....
