A-STYLE MANDOLIN

Great, useable condition. Diamond pocket cover. Original 1920’s Gibson A Style Mandolin Hard Case.
Their best case at the time. Green lining.

This case housed a 1924 “A” Style "Snake-Head" mandolin and no reason to believe it wasn’t originally and optionally purchased at the same time. This was an “upgrade” at the time as the original mandolin would have likely came with the cheap “student quality” hardened canvas case with the rear opening. Rare opportunity to upgrade to a early century, “top of the  line” case. Case has typical edge / seam wear with some separation on the back, lower bout. All original hardware still intact, but needs a bit of maintenance. Original handle also in great shape. All latches function. This is the “green” lined one with the diamond compartment lid.  

Could use some "fix-up". In great "As-Found" condition. Will fit "A" style mandolins.

Internal Dimensions: 26.5" overall internal length. 10.5" bottom bout width. 4.75" headstock width at the apex. Internal height ~4.25".

 a re-set, in case you're wondering.  The finish is completely original, and almost perfect. Has a 1.5" visible crack running from top, rear edge of pick guard back towards bridge.
 Has case, possibly the original although could be 1930's Dobro case.
