Most of these components are "take-outs" from working speaker cabinets 
and unless otherwise noted are in perfect shape! Where necessary foam
 surrounds have been replaced and / or speaker has been professionally 
and correctly re-coned!

A NOTE ABOUT POLK AUDIO SPEAKERS: 
Polk woofers can be very susceptible to damage from shock. A speaker that has been dropped, even from a short distance or bumped severely, may likely have damage to the woofers. Even dropping them from as little as 6" can do it. This can even happen when the original box is unloaded from the delivery truck / loading dock or when being hand-trucked down stairs or off a curb, roughly. This occurs because the glue / epoxy they used to secure the magnet structure to the back plate of the frame gives way. This usually manifests itself in a woofer cone that is "frozen" feeling and will not move. Do not connect a speaker that has a woofer with these symptoms to your amplifier, as the voice coil of the driver may be shorted across part of the internal motor structure of the speaker and may present a lower impedance to your amplifier than it is designed to accommodate. The above issue is prevalent on most of the classic Polk Audio models. We do not know if the problem has been rectified on the newer drivers (woofers). We spoke with someone at Polk recently about this and that person said they could not verify one way or the other whether they had changed epoxy types or designs. Just FYI.

 

*Note about parts sales

* Our "parts units" & parts are primarily archived for the purpose of restoration / repair of "Oak Tree Vintage" units first. Only if we do not have a "viable" unit in yet, either already in process or in line to be processed, that may potentially need parts from a "parts unit", will we release available parts for sale. As many of you know, the restoration of a unit can be a long, time consuming process. We may "lock up" parts that we may potentially need in the restoration of a unit. The parts are valued by the "potential value" of the unit they can be applicable to, time to extract, their rarity & condition to name a few criteria. A non-response to an email request for a part (we may have), likely means that we are still determining which parts we are going to need for the restoration or repair of a unit. Again, the parts are first for the restoration of our units and secondarily for the public market. Since we list the parts available for ourselves, it is not much effort to modify the menu's for web publication. Frankly, publishing them to the web, in many instances, makes it easier for us to determine if we have the part for our needs as well. The alternative would be to not offer them at all to the public, however most parts are always available to the public for sale. Thank you for your understanding.
