Classic and very sought after Calrad 500C mic. These are great for photos, display, prop or loading in a modern element and using on-stage. It's been about 2 years since we've had one of these and we get many calls a week for them. Chrome grill work in perfect condition with no dents or corrosion. Bakelite body perfect with no chips or cracks. None of the common cracks around the yoke mounts either. Also the stand mounting flange is still firmly spot welded to the yoke. They are commonly missing or glued in place which will usually not hold!!! Polished Aluminum body and grill work.

Original Specs (when working):
Impedance: Hi-Z
Element Type: Double Crystals
Frequency Response: 40-8,000 cps
Pattern: Omni-directional when placed Vertically,
Cardioid when placed Horizontally
Output: -50db

Mike looks great! While it does work, they were designed with dual "Crystal" elements, which sounded like a telephone when new, and still do. Not very useable on modern sound systems. They're not very useable on modern sound systems due to that. They were originally sold as Tape Recorder mics. If anyone tries to convince you that they are "Studio", "professional" mics or "just like Bing or Sinatra" used, they are full of "you know what". These mics were never marketed, nor recommended for that, but again have become very sought after for display / prop use. Fits standard, modern mic stand. Aluminum all in great shape. No dents, dings, pitting or corrosion. Original cloth intact and clean. No yuckiness! Comes with "fixed attachment" cable currently terminated in a standard 1/4" phono / guitar 280 plug
. Measures ~7.25" tall. (pictured stand not included)

Circa 1950's / early 60's

SOLD 5/4/10

Classic and very sought after Calrad 500C mic. This is the slightly later version with the enameled badges. These were "Crystal, Dual Element" mics. Most have long ago dried up and do not work. Oddly this one did still function, but we have removed the original crystal elements and redesigned the suspension to accept one of the above replacment elements. Nickel / chrome plated grill work looks GREAT!

Original Specs (when working w/ original crystal elements):
Impedance: Hi-Z
Element Type: Double Crystals
Frequency Response: 40-8,000 cps
Pattern: Omni-directional when placed Vertically,
Cardioid when placed Horizontally
Output: -50db

NEW SPECS AFTER MODIFICATION:
Applications:
Stage / Vocal  / Speech
Type: Dynamic Moving Coil
Frequency Response: 50-16,000 Hz
Polar Pattern: Uni-Directional / Cardioid
Impedance: ~370 Ohms +/- 20% (low Z)
Sensitivity: -71dB +/- 3dB
Pop Filter Material: Black, Acoustic foam
Connection: Can be un-terminated, or terminated with 1/4" phono / guitar plug or XLR when ordered
Stand Flange: Standard US threads

Mike looks great! Again, unlike the last 15 or so of these we've had, due ONLY to the modification we did, THIS MIC IS READY TO USE ON STAGE!!! Fits standard, modern mic stand. Chrome all in great shape. No dents, dings, pitting or corrosion. Original cloth intact and clean with no yuckiness! We also installed a thin sheet of acoustic foam inside the grill to reduce voice "pops". We also replaced the original cheap cable with "George L's", fully shielded cable and ran shielding all the way up to the element to reduce RFI potential. Measures ~7.25" tall (not including stand).

MODIFIED WITH NEW DYNAMIC VOCAL ELEMENT!!!

VINTAGE
DYNAMIC MICROPHONE
Circa late 50's through late 60's

MADE & MODIFIED IN USA

SOLD 8/2/10

One of the most sought after harp / Rock-a-Billy mics.  This is the slightly later version of the 630 with the aluminum / silk-screened badge. These were originally sold with a very "mid-voiced" element for announcement work. In their stock form, auctioneers and bingo callers love these for their "honky" mid voice that retains speech intelligibility. Due to that midrange voicing, harp players love them as well. HOWEVER, this one is not like that anymore. This one came in with a non-original and non-functioning element. We have installed a new dynamic element. We also enlarged the existing pressure release vent and added two additionally on the lower half of the body. These were then covered with acoustic foam. We also made the internal "element to switch connection" with "shielded" wire to reduce RFI possibilities. Polished Aluminum body and grill work all in great shape.

Original Specs for a 630 (when working w/ original elements):
Impedance: Available 50, 200 or Hi-Z
Element Type: High-Output Dynamic, "Acousti-alloy" diaphragm, AlNiCo magnet.
Frequency Response: 60-11,000 cps (with emphasis around 800-2k)
Pattern: Omni-directional (not generally good for modern PA use)
Output: -55db

NEW SPECS AFTER MODIFICATION:
Applications:
Stage / Vocal  / Speech
Type: Dynamic Moving Coil
Frequency Response: 50-16,000 Hz
Polar Pattern: Uni-Directional / Cardioid (great for high volume PA / stage use!)
Impedance: ~370 Ohms +/- 20% (low Z)
Sensitivity: -71dB +/- 3dB
Pop Filter Material: Acoustic foam
Connection: 3-Pin, Screw-on (Included with this mic assembled to a new XLR cable)
Stand Flange: Standard US threads

Mike looks great! Again, unlike the last 10 or so of these we've had, due ONLY to the modification we did, THIS MIC IS READY TO USE ON STAGE FOR VOCALS!!!. Fits standard, modern mic stand. Aluminum all in great shape. No dents, dings, pitting or corrosion. Original grill cleaned with no yuckiness! We also installed a thin sheet of acoustic foam inside the grill to reduce voice "pops". Includes one of our custom, 3-Pin screw-on to XLR cables.

ELECTRO-VOICE EV
664  SINGLE VENT

GOLD ANODIZED
ORIGINAL VINTAGE
DYNAMIC MICROPHONE
ORIGINAL AND OPTIONAL
#418 STAND IN GOLD

MADE IN USA

SOLD 10/5/11

This is a vintage EV 664 that was gold anodized at the factory. This was an option available at the time. This one also has the very rare stand that was also gold anodized to match. "Single vent" version. One of the few "Vintage" mics that still sounds good and remains usable on modern sound systems. Plenty of "low-end" with good balance. Has new "pop filter" foam installed above element. ON/Off switch cleaned. Fully tested.

Original Specs:
Mic / Element type; Dynamic
Polar Pattern; Cardioid
Element Material: Mylar
Freq Response: 60-13,000 Hz
Impedance: Dual. Switch-able (easily changed by moving on wire on the MC-4, internal connector) Lo @ 150 ohms or Hi  or Hi 250 ohms

Output: -55 dBm

Recommended use (originally): Handheld / Stage Vocal, Amateur Radio / Communications.
Connector Type:
Amphenol 91-MC4M (4-Pin)

Mic has been tested and works great. We also installed new windscreen / pop foam. The gold finish has considerable wear. One area in particular is about the size of a couple postage stamps. It also has some shallow "pitting" wear to the stand and typical scuffs and scratches to the mic body. Internal connector in good shape and works find. We also cleaned the On / Off switch and it functions perfectly. Typical of a 664, it feels like a "hammer". Looks good with only most minor cosmetic wear, sounds & works great!

Uses our 4-pin screw-on cable available above (sold separately). (pictured stand not included)

"PILL" MICROPHONE
Circa 1950's / early 60's

SOLD 11/24/10

Classic and very sought after Fen-Tone FM-18 mic. These are great for photos, display, prop or loading in a modern element and utilizing on-stage. Chrome grill work in perfect condition with no dents or corrosion. Bakelite body perfect with no chips or cracks. None of the common cracks around the yoke mounts either. Also the stand mounting flange is still firmly spot welded to the yoke.
They are commonly missing, which means that you cannot attach the mic to a stand, or glued in place which will usually not hold! Polished Aluminum body and grill work.

 Original Specs (when working):
 Impedance:
Hi-Z
 Element Type: Double Crystals
 Frequency Response: 40-8,000 cps
 Pattern: Omni-directional when placed Vertically,
 Cardioid when placed Horizontally
 Output: -50db

These mics were designed with "Crystal" elements, which sounded like a telephone when when they worked. This one, interestingly, still works! If you're interested in actually utilizing it, this version has a switch that allows either one ('S' / single position) or ('P' / Pair position) both elements to function and offers an 'OFF' position. Just FYI, not only when in the 'P / Pair' position is there more output, the mic is also quieter from noise.
Again, we don't get crystal mics that still function very often. It could also be possible to load with a more modern element or a lavaliere mic. They're not very useable on modern sound systems due to original "crystal" elements.
There were originally sold as Tape Recorder mics. If anyone tries to convince you that they are "professional" mics or were "just like Bing or Sinatra" used, they are full of "you know what". These mics were never used for that, but again have become very sought after for display / prop use and for "dummy mics" in an interview / desk situation. Fits standard, modern mic stand. Aluminum all in great shape. Also the chrome strips on the lower section on this one are really inlaid chrome, not stickers as on some.  Mike looks great! Essentially in NEW condition. Cord / cable does not appear to have ever been un-wrapped nor terminated. No dents, dings, pitting or corrosion. Original cloth intact and clean with no yuckiness! Comes with "fixed attachment" cable currently about 6" in length. Measures ~7.25" tall.

"PILL" MICROPHONE
Circa 1950's / early 60's

SOLD 6/29/10

Classic and very sought after Midland 22-104, "Dual Crystal" microphone. While there were many of this style mic made, under numerous brands (and we have had most of them), this is the first "Midland" version we've had.
These were "Dual Crystal Element" mics. Most have their original crystal elements, that long ago dried up (as crystal elements will over time) and do not work. Oddly this one does still function.
They are commonly missing or glued in place which will usually not hold!!! Nickel / chrome plated grill work looks good with some minor scuffing from errant cleaning.

Original Specs (when working):
Impedance: Hi-Z
Element Type: Double Crystals

Pattern: Omni-directional when placed Vertically,
Cardioid when placed Horizontally

If anyone tries to convince you that they are "Studio", "professional" mics or were "just like Bing or Sinatra" used, they are full of "you know what". Just need to "clear the air" about that, as I'm seeing them listed all over the net under that false info. These mics were not designed for those applications, but again have become very sought after for display / prop use and for "dummy mics" in an interview / desk situation. Fits standard, modern mic stand. Chrome all in good shape. No dents, dings, pitting or corrosion. Original cloth intact and clean with no yuckiness! MICROPHONE

Classic and very sought after Realistic 33-929 "Pill", mic. These are great for photos, display, prop or loading with a modern element and using on-stage. They are commonly missing, which means that you cannot attach the mic to a stand, or glued in place which will usually not hold! Polished Aluminum body and grill work.

Original Specs (when working):
Impedance: Hi-Z
Element Type: Double Crystals
Frequency Response: 40-8,000 cps
Pattern: Omni-directional when placed Vertically,
Cardioid when placed Horizontally
Output: -50db

Mike looks great! Unfortunately like most of these mics, the "Crystal" element has long since dried up and mic is being sold as a prop or for retrofitting a different element. These mics have become very sought after for display / prop use. Fits standard, modern mic stand. Aluminum all in great shape. No dents, dings, pitting or corrosion. Original cloth intact and clean, with no yuckiness! Comes with "fixed attachment" cable un-terminated
. Measures ~7.25" tall. (pictured stand not included)

Mike looks great! Unfortunately like most of these mics, the "Crystal" element has long since dried up and mic is being sold as a prop or for retrofitting a different element. Even if it did work, they were and are terrible sounding by most folks standards. Generally sounded like a telephone when new, and still do if you find a working one. They're not very useable on modern sound systems due to that. They were originally sold as Tape Recorder mics. If anyone tries to convince you that they are "Studio", "professional" mics or "just like Bing or Sinatra" used, they are full of "you know what". These mics were never marketed, nor recommended for that, but again have become very sought after for display / prop use. and sounds surprisingly good. Fits standard, modern mic stand. "PILL" MICROPHONE
Circa 1950's / early 60's

Classic and very sought after Realistic 33-929 "Pill" mic. These are great for photos, display, prop or loading with a modern element and utilizing on-stage. This mic is in MIB condition and has never been used (evidenced by an un-terminated cable that is still wrapped in it's factory fashion).

Output: -50db

Mike looks great and again is in NEW condition in it's original box!
They were designed with "Crystal" elements, which sounded like a telephone when when they worked. This one, interestingly, still works! Again, we don't get crystal mics that still function very often. It could also be possible to load with a more modern element or a lavaliere mic. They're not very useable on modern sound systems due to original "crystal" elements. They were originally sold as Tape Recorder mics.

   MICROPHONE
MIC

One of the classic 50's style mics.  This one is a foam grill version, with the black plastic front bezel, so it's likely 70's thru 80's. This one looks better than most of the original vintage mics we get as they don't have any of the inherent corrosion / pitting from being handled by "sweaty" hands over the years and the grills aren't coated with old / moldy "beer / tobacco / bar room spit" (I know that is a gross description, but also a reality). If you just want a cool looking mic to "mess around with" or for Movie, TV, Theater props or photo shoots then this is also a GREAT candidate. With the exception of a number engraved on the bottom handle (port side) the mic looks excellent (see photos). This model does feature the "HML" switch on the bottom side of the main body. Connector and threads in perfect order. Shure badge still intact and plastic chip / break free. Swivel clutch holds fine. No bent or distorted grill work. Uses our 3-Pin mic cables shown above (sold separately).
Includes our standard 90 day warranty.

   FEMALE XLR  -  1/4" MALE
LOW IMPEDANCE to HIGH Z
MIC ADAPTOR / TRANSFORMER / PIGTAIL

Finally we found an XLR-1/4" transformer / adaptor that doesn't "gut" itself after you use it a half dozen times. I can't tell you how many times I've used cheap versions of these in the past at gigs, that totally come apart when you un-plug them. This one is built to last and stay together.
This version is also the "pig-tail" one that doesn't turn your microphone cable plug into an 8" lever like the "solid" versions do. With the cheap way mixing boards / consoles, portable PA systems and guitar amps are made these days, you need all the help you can get. Any tension on the solid, "one-piece" versions will bend your input jacks. This version puts no more tension on your input jacks than a normal cable does.
Internal, built-in transformer converts Low Z (600 ohms) to Hi Z (50,000 ohms) to allow all your mic's sound into your pre-amp / amp. It's not just an adaptor. Also has a switch to defeat the transformer if you wish to just use it as an adaptor. It's essentially a Direct-Box in a cable. 1 year warranty against workmanship defects
