ü Our technician has completely gone through and 'Certified' this unit.

ü We have completely gone through this unit cleaning everything including all switches, controls and contacts. Extensive cleaning of unit internally.

ü Control potentiometers were 'flooded' w/ 'De-OxId' and are now quiet

ü Switches / Selectors were also flooded with cleaner.

ü All 'edge card' style PCB's removed, contacts burnished prior to re-insertion.

ü I felt that the tuner flywheel was a bit 'sluggish' (and I've seen them 'freeze up' once they start having resistance to their motion), so I sent it back through the tech procedure, and had them disassemble the flywheel assembly (not a particularly easy task), clean the bushing / axel, and re-lube. Now is should be good for another 30-40 years. Frankly we are seeing this WAY more often on tuner flywheels, as the 'lubes' are hitting the end of their intended life.

ü RCA I/O jacks cleaned of surface corrosion.

ü We also aligned the tuner front-end on both AM & FM bands for optimum performance as older tuner components will have 'drifted' over the years.

ü AM 'Stick' ferrite core adjusted for optimum reception and minimal noise

ü AM 'Stick' antenna 'ball and socket' inspected and is holding well.

ü Tuner string checked for any fraying then re-tensioned to increase traction & relieve flywheel binding and re-centered pointer to correct dial position.

ü Tuner dial pointer further aligned electronically

ü New lamps / bulbs installed for "Selector / Function / Meter / Dial" etc: 2x #25-020, 7x #25-130, 1x #47 / 6.3V/150mA & 1x / 6.3V/70mA. Triple emmiter LED's in 'Warm' Kelvin temp for "Dial".

   

 ü No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent!

ü All functions test fine.

ü Following restoration procedures, the unit was ran continuously for 48+ hours. Total restoration time investment ~11 hours. You will not be disappointed.

The Colonel does one thing, he "fry's chicken". Accuphase did one thing, they made "Tuners" (actually they made a pre-amp and power amp as well, but they're famous for their "Tuners". Hey the "Colonel" has branched out too).
Very impressive and classy looking Accuphase T-100, tuner with performance to match. Brushed aluminum face with matching knobs. Actually would match many period correct units from McIntosh, such as the MA-5100, MA-6100 etc.

First Accuphase tuner we've had in 25 years. This is an amazing FM tuner (yes, it does AM, but I'm going to assume you're not buying it for it's "AM" performance, just like you don't buy a "Class-A Motorhome" because of their gas mileage. Believe me, I just did that and at 8.5 mpg, I'm quite happy). Actually, the AM does quite a respectable job. FM sounds amazing!!!
Again, we have completely gone through this unit. Looks NEAR NEW inside and with a few obligatory 'battle scars' on the outside (small tics, nics and striations. Also some finish wear spots near the hinge, inside the drop down panel. See photos above).
Comes with e-copies / pdf download of the original Accuphase / Kensonic T-100 owners / user / instruction manual, a review from 1975 and the Accuphase brouchure / catalog. Can also come with e-copies / pdf download of the original Accuphase / Kensonic T-100 service manual if the purchaser desires.

* The Orion Blue book states a "Circa" range of 1973-1983. That would be quite a 'long' span of time for a single model to remain current and I generally consider the "Orion" guide to be maybe 70-80% accurate, at least up to the years that I own. I can find the Accuphase T-100 listed in my "Audio Buyers Guides" and some other Catalogs / buyers guides from 1974 to 1978.

VERY GOOD TUNER! Generally AM reception in a stereo receiver is treated as an 'after thought', but the AM reception on this one is WAY above average. Pulls in stations like an old 'Tube' radio! FM reception also incredible and IMPECCABLY CLEAN!!!

Classy looking Fisher FM-7000, AM/FM tuner. Brushed aluminum face with matching knobs. Simple to use, but above average performance (even for an 'analog tuner').



This tuner is in great condition. As stated earlier, we have completely gone through this unit. Looks great both inside and out. Cosmetically, with the exception of some minor 'pitting' on the rack handles (only really noticeable when grabbing the handles of the unit) the tuner looks great. Works and sounds great as well!
 This tuner has an above average AM section. Much better than most stereo tuners.

Very impressive and classy looking, NEC built, MCS 3701, AM/FM tuner with great performance on both AM and FM. This tuner has a very selective FM section and an above average AM section. Much better than most stereo tuners. Black anodized, aluminum face with matching 'milled' knobs. Internally, our tech noted that, "it's a very well laid out unit, that lends itself to good / easy serviceability with actual 'test points'. More gear should be built like this".


This tuner is in fabulous condition. Again, we have completely gone through this unit. Looks GREAT both inside and out. The only cosmetic issue worth mentioning is a small striation on the face plate, above the 'Stereo' indicator (see above photos).
Works and sounds great as well!

ü AM 'Stick' ferrite core adjusted for optimum reception and minimal noise

ü Tuner string checked for any fraying then re-tensioned to increase traction & relieve flywheel binding and re-centered pointer to correct dial position.

ü All dial & meter lamps checked as good, and as they are 'low current draw', should offer lots of trouble-free service. (by the way, we could have changed these, but they're the original, 'worth their weight in gold almost', AEL-029, Blue-Pioneer bulbs. We did recoat them with their 'translucent blue' finish) (if you want, we'll change them out to 'new' prior to shipping, but we get to keep the originals)

Tuner has had complete service including cleaning everything including all switches, controls and contacts. We also aligned the tuner front-end for optimum AM & FM performance as 20 years and older internal tuner components have always drifted on vintage gear over the years and this one had definitely drifted. Pulls stations great now. All Dial and meter lamps replaced with new bulbs as well as the 'Wide', 'Narrow' and 'Stereo' indicators. Meter lamp sockets burnished for positive contact. New light masking foam added to face plate ends. We also replaced the 'works' in the 'Signal Meter' w/ new. Tuner has had complete service including cleaning everything including all switches, controls and contacts. All Dial and meter lamps replaced with new bulbs as well as the 'Power' and 'Stereo' indicators. New light masking foam added to face plate ends. AC voltage selector corrected for North American current. We also replaced the 'plastic' AM antenna bracket with a stronger metal version. Also, prior to coming to us, the tuning knob was replaced with a 'higher mass' version for more 'spin' and 'weightiness'. ü Our technician has completely gone through and 'Certified' this unit.

ü We have completely gone through this unit cleaning everything including all switches, controls and contacts. Extensive cleaning of unit internally.

ü Control ( 'Output' potentiometer on rear panel) was 'flooded' w/ 'De-OxId' and is now quiet

ü Tuning flywheel shaft removed, bushing and shaft cleaned and re-lubed (this is a fairly time consuming process that we have been seeing necessary over the past couple years on most analog tuners as the lubes are 'freezing' up to the point where we've actually seen tuning knob shafts be twisted off)

ü Switches / Selectors (rotary, toggle and slide) were also flooded with cleaner.

ü We also aligned the tuner front-end on both AM & FM bands for optimum performance as older tuner components will have 'drifted' over the years.

ü AM 'Stick' ferrite core adjusted for optimum reception and minimal noise

ü AM 'Stick' antenna 'ball and socket' inspected and is holding well.

ü Tuner string checked for any fraying then re-tensioned to increase traction & relieve flywheel binding and re-centered pointer to correct dial position.

ü We replaced all 'dial / meter' light bulbs (even though the existing units were for the time being working) for trouble-free service.

 ü No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent!

ü All functions test fine,

Following restoration procedures, the unit was ran continuously for 48+ hours. Total restoration time investment ~4.5 hours. You will not be disappointed.

VERY GOOD TUNER! Generally AM reception in a stereo receiver is treated as an 'after thought', but the AM reception on this one is WAY above average. Pulls in stations like an old 'Tube' radio! FM reception also incredible and IMPECCABLY CLEAN!!!

Very elegant Realistic TM-1001 AM/FM, tuner with performance to match. Brushed aluminum face with matching knobs. This is the first one we've had in 24+ years of having the website.

This tuner is in fabulous condition. As stated earlier, we have completely gone through this unit. Looks great both inside and out.

Cosmetically, with the exception of some minor 'tics' on the face, and along the top 'side edge' of the wood case and a few, old scratches from other gear sitting on top in the past (only really noticeable when looking 'down from above' the unit. Lemon oil pretty much hides them from being distracting) the tuner looks great (see photos above). Also, the plastic 'lock' for the AM stick antenna was sheared off at sometime in the past (probably because someone tried to use the AM antenna as a "handle" which is why most gear has a sticker on the antenna stick that states, "NOT a handle").

Works and sounds great as well!
 This tuner has a very selective FM section and an above average AM section. Much better than most stereo tuners. This is a great AM/FM tuner from 1978-79!
Includes a pdf, e-copy download of the Realistic TM-1001 owners / users / instruction manual. Measures 16.2" wide x 12" deep x 5.75" tall and weighs 13 lbs unpacked. Includes our standard 30 day limited warranty.

Weighted flywheel assembly was completely disassembled, bushing and axle 'solvent cleaned', lubed and re-assembled (we are finding that operation, while time consuming, is becoming more and more necessary on many 'flywheel' tuners as they're all approaching their 40th-50th birthday. We also aligned the tuner front-end for optimum AM & FM performance as 20 years and older internal tuner components have always drifted on vintage gear over the years and this one had definitely drifted. Pulls stations great now. All indicator LED's and lamps working fine. No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! All functions test fine. Following restoration procedures, the unit was ran continuously for 48 hours.

Great and performing looking Sansui TU-217 AM/FM tuner. Black anodized, aluminum face (to match many of the classic, Sansui "AU" series integrated amplifiers. (tech note; "I really like the performance of this tuner following service work, despite it's position in the model line-up").


Entire unit has been cleaned and tested. Looks near NEW and works great on both AM & FM bands. Actually AM is exceptionally strong and clean. That is not often the case with stereo tuners.
Only issue is that the bakelite socket that holds the AM bar antenna has been broken at one time and epoxied to functional status. Appears that it should be serviceable, but not included as a part of the warranty. Measures 17" wide x 12.25" deep x 4.5" tall and weighs 10.5 lbs unpacked. Includes our standard 30 day limited warranty.

Entire unit has been cleaned and tested. Slight scratching to left, dial scale, near left end, but nothing particularly distracting (on the underlying aluminum plate, not on the dial window). Looks and works great on both AM & FM bands. Actually AM is strong and clean. That is not often the case with stereo tuners.
