Our speaker tech
has completely gone through and 'Certified' these.Our speaker tech has
inspected the foam surrounds and replaced were necessary or 're-attached'
with fresh glue.
The cabinets in near great shape as are the grills. The cabinet corners
and edges all sharp and crisp. The original grill frames solid and cloth in
beautiful condition. And remember, we have just replaced the foam surrounds
on all 4 woofers, and both passives for trouble free service. Following the
above work, we completely tested them with both recorded material, PN 20-20k
and swept them with our AF generator from 20-20,000 Hz (actually all 4
woofers were independently swept after re-foaming and prior to
re-installation as well the entire speaker once re-assembled) and feeding
them with the output from our Hafler P-225 Pro Power Amp, looking for any
vibrations or other anomalies. We then further auditioned with a myriad of
our difficult to reproduce 'test' CD's. Entire cabinet has been frequency
swept while being powered by our Hafler test amp.......

A later version
of the famous "The Advent Loudspeaker" speakers series, the Advent
"Legacy's". Great looking and sounding 2-way speakers. Very accurate!!!
Our speaker tech
has completely gone through and 'Certified' these.
Speakers were entirely disassembled. Woofer surrounds just replaced with new
foam for trouble-free service. Our tech has completely tested all drivers,
then re-assembled with their original and adequate gasketing material under
all driver frames to further reduce any possibilities of vibration or
acoustic anomalies, and tested with recorded material, PN and swept them
with our AF generator from 20-3kHz. Following, of
course our normal barrage of 'pink noise' and an AF sweep from 3k down to
20Hz,
our demo cuts ran the gamut from Dire Straits, 'Brothers in Arms',
Donald
Fagen's 'I.G.Y.', TLC's 'Scrub'
from the CD 'Fan Mail', (they
did very well at reproducing the 'sub-bass' notes at 1'33" & again at
1'44"), Allison Kraus
and Union Station, our 'Usher Speaker' demo CD (no, not that Usher),
Nickel Creek's, "When in Rome" from the CD, "Why Should the Fire Die", and a few others, all digitally recorded and some 'DDD'.

Cabinets cleaned, then had a coat of Howards 'Restore-A-Finish' and
'Feed-n-Wax' rubbed into the 'real' teak wood veneer and are in great shape
with minimum normal wear (see above photos). Grills including grill frames
and cloth in great condition as well with only very minor knit holes and a
small 'postage stamp' size discoloration (see photos above). Grill frames
'break free' and all 8 locating pins in original 'intact' condition.
Overall, the speakers look and perform great!

were removed and reinstalled into cabinet with ‘added’ gasketing
material under their frames to further reduce any possibilities of
vibration or acoustic anomalies. Next, as always they were tested with
both recorded material, PN 20-20k and swept them with our AF generator
from 20-3kHz. Then came our standard, 'abusive' test recordings. These
speakers are ready to go!
